Goblin
Cock – Bagged and Boarded
CD/limited picture disc LP * Lord Phallus,
Bane Ass-Pounder, King Sith, Braindeath and Loki Sinjuggler unleash their
mighty debut of Sabbath-metal upon the world. Nothing can stop it. Rumor
has it Rob Crow of Pinback is in this band under an alias. I believe it.
Spreading like Hellfire.

The
Dead Science – Frost Giant
CD * Seattle trio showers you in honey and feathers with
an incredible album of art-damaged rock-jazz. All those hyphens are frustrating,
but what do you do if you're one of the most original bands currently
in music? Think Roxy Music eating Deerhoof alive with a glass of Chet
Baker's voice and you're in firing range. This band just keeps getting
better and better. On tour with Xiu Xiu now.

COMING SOON:
APRIL 18:
Frog Eyes - The Bloody
Hand
Frog Eyes - The Golden River
We're reissuing Frog Eyes' first two albums with extra tracks on April
18, just prior to the band's tour with Sunset Rubdown in May (dates below).
Spencer Krug will be doing double duty playing in both bands.
Frog Eyes' first album, The Bloody Hand, originally released in Canada
on Global Symphonic and never widely available in the United States (or
other countries), will have the entire second Blue Pine album (title:
Seagull Is On The Rise) appended to it. Blue Pine was Carey Mercer and
Michael Rak's band prior to Frog Eyes. (Their self-titled first album
was also released by Global Symphonic.)
Frog Eyes - The Bloody Hand
1. Sound Travels From The Snow To The Dark
2. The Fox Speaks To His Wife Who Is Not Quite Sure
3. Krull Fire Wedding
4. The Mayor Laments The Failures Of His Many Townfolk
5. Our Lordship Has Devised A New Billing System
6. The Horse Used To Wear A Crown
7. The Fruit That Fell From The Tree
8/9. Silence But For The Gentle Tinkling Of The Flowing Creek
10. The Hardest Night To Sleep In The Swamplands
11. Libertatia's National Lullaby
extra tracks: Blue Pine - Seagull Is On The Rise
12. Seagulls On The Rise
13. One Considers Sailing On
14. Tyranny of Sight and Tyranny of Seeing
15. Picture Framing
16. "Buttercup"
17. Drinking: The Song
18. Body Body
19. Lost in a Godless Sea
20. Before They Was Killed in a Car Crash
Frog Eyes' second album, The Golden River, also released in Canada by
Global Symphonic and here in the U.S. by the now defunct Animal World
label, will have tracks from the Emboldened Navigator 7" (released
by Soft Abuse) and unreleased recordings from an earlier session for the
album that was never released (save for two tracks that overlapped with
The Bloody Hand sessions). This session included Spencer Krug (Sunset
Rubdown, Wolf Parade) on keyboards rather than Grayson Miniely (who played
on the sessions that became the album proper). Three of the songs from
those sessions wound up on other releases, but have been preserved here
for continuity.
Frog Eyes - The Golden River
1. One in Six Children Will Flee In Boats
2. Time Reveals Its Plan At Poisined Falls
3. Masticated Outboard Motors

extra tracks: Frog Eyes - Emboldened Navigator and the Seagull Dots
12. The Fruit that Ate Itself (originally on The Bloody Hand)
13. Meadows and Madames and So Forth
14. A Latex Ice Age
15. Picture Framing and Some Other Dark Shit
16. American Waltz for the Good Americans
17. One in Six Children Will Flee in Boats
18. ?
19. Spencers' song for Carey to officially sing
20. I Hope My Horse Don't Make No Sound
21. A song once mine now no longer mine (originally on Sunset Rubdown's
Snake's Got A Leg)
22. "Shots"
23. Libertatia National Lullaby (originally on The Bloody Hand)
Frog Eyes are busy recording
their new album tentatively set for an autumn release on Absolutely Kosher.
Frog Eyes' principal songwriter Carey Mercer considers the first three
albums (the two being reissued plus The Folded Palm) a trilogy, so expect
some space between them and the new record. The band has also just finished
a nineteen-minute CDEP comprised of a single song (in several parts) for
the Spanish label Acuarela which U.S. fans will be able to purchase from
Absolutely Kosher later this spring.
MAY
2:
The Court and Spark - Hearts
Sunset Rubdown - Shut Up I Am Dreaming
Well,
nobody ever accused us of taking the easy road and being a strict genre
label (though there was one European website who claimed all of our bands
were influenced by Yo La Tengo).
More
on these two incredible records in a few weeks. For now, see you in Texas.
