Following up his acclaimed debut, Music For Tourists, Chris Garneau presents the EP, C Sides which is out now. This beautiful record is hand silk-screened by Chris himself, and only made availabe through our website or at one of his shows. Digital tracks are available for download through iTunes, eMusic, Amazon, and other fine digital outlets. Included on the EP is “It's Almost Christmas!” whose sweet piano intro is reminiscent of a classic Christmas carol. The song feels familiar, like Christmas tunes ingrained in our collective memory, while at the same time being a take on the Christmas song that only Chris can bring. His charming high tenor paints a picture of Christmas spirit gone by and holiday heartbreakers. The stripped down instrumentation and sweet vocals glide through the rest of the EP exploring themes of solitude, love that is both there and gone in a whimsical, dreamy and dark manor that begs you to take a second, third and fourth listen. Chris will be on tour through December. Click here to check out the song “Its Almost Christmas!”

Philadelphia/Brooklyn band Bottom of the Hudson suffered a serious van wreck on Sunday, July 29th, while returning home after the final date of a short East Coast tour to promote their new album, Fantastic Hawk, released just two weeks ago on July 17. While on I-40 near Clinton, NC, a tire blew out sending the van out of control and flipping it multiple times. Bassist Trevor Butler was killed in the accident and drummer Greg Lytle is currently in ICU in Chapel Hill, NC. The other members of the band, Eli Simon, Michael Prince and William Chesterton Chambers, suffered minor injuries and were released from the hospital. 7/01/07 We here at Absolutely Kosher have been working with The Court and Spark for more than five years, and during that time we've enjoyed being so intimately involved with every one of their releases. Absolutely Kosher's relationship with them makes it that much harder to bring the news that their performance this Friday, July 6 at the Cafe du Nord in San Francisco, will be their last for the forseeable future. Such a band, drawing influence from sources as diverse as Tom Petty and Dean Wareham, have shown all of us the vast areas of original musical thought still yet unexplored, and their warm, intimate live shows will be missed. However, it is in the spirit of such a brilliant band that we present the Court and Spark Combo Deal: Hearts, Witch Season, Dead Diamond River, and Bless You, four CDs for $32.

2/14/07 Holy Moly! Our men in the Ex-Boyfriends have made it to the third round of Spin.com's Artist of the Year tournament. The tournament, a bracketed affair which began with 32 bands, is down to the final eight, the 'elite 8' if you will, and now more than ever the Ex-Boyfriends need your support. They're matched up against The Silent Years for the title of Best Underground Band, an honor which they more than deserve. Place your vote here.
1/07 We're very happy to announce our management partnership with Misra Records. We're combining resources so that both labels can now have more people working for all their bands. More details here.
